BMICH – Sri Lanka’s iconic landmark has been crowned as the Gold Award winner in the Leading Convention Center category of the prestigious 2022 South Asian Travel Awards (SATA). This award recognizes Sri Lanka as the premium Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Expositions (MICE) destination in the South Asian region. The SATA Awards Ceremony was held at the Adaaran Select Hotel Hudhuran Fushi Resort in the Republic of Maldives on 30th September 2022. This is the 5^th consecutive occasion that the BMICH has been presented with the Gold award as the Leading Convention Center in South Asia at the SATA awards and the 7^th international award won by BMICH since 2015.

Previously BMICH was recognized for the International Quality Era Award in Geneva in 2016 and in Paris in 2017 and BWIO Platinum award of honor for “The Most Outstanding Service Excellence Organization for the Year – 2020”.

SATA, endorsed by multinational associations, recognizes the tourism sector in the South Asian region based on their facilities, infrastructure and service quality. The South Asian Travel Awards aims to encourage and raise service standards of the travel & MICE industries in the region.
